Chris Salomon - Snowboard Guru

If you frequent the the local slopes of Buck Hill and Hyland you have probably already met him. If not, we would like to introduce you to Chris Solomon. He has a solid pedigree in the snowboarding world, riding now for 18 years - the first 9 years freeride, the last 9 in the park. He recently has been employed by Hyland Hills as lift supervisor and in the tune shop (I'm sure that included lots of free time on the Hill). He also helped with the design and installation of the park at Hyland. And he previously was employed by Quicksilver.

Minutiae of Chris' life: He was born in Augsburg, Germany (military brat), lived in England until he was 4 1/2 years old, then moved to the east coast until he arrived here in the mid-90's. That's when he took up snowboarding. He has 3 degrees; TV Productions & Advertising, Communication Studies and a general degree from Normandale. He loves thai food and eventually would like to teach english in Thailand (access to plenty of thai food) or maybe Japan. In the summer he prefers biking (single speed and mountain) or long boarding.

His first snowboard (used, $100) back in '94 was too long. Not a good way to start a new sport. Chris will make it his mission to provide you with a better fit in a better board than he started with.
